Jingle Bells
I have a new holiday grouping debuting this weekend! I should have it listed on ebay either today or tomorrow. I call this one Jingle Bells. I have had so many requests for tees with writing with the edges left to fray that I decided to start incorporating this into my designs. Once again, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Sarah, bella*jo*bows, for this set. Her pony-o's and headband are absolutely adorable!

Froggy Winter

Candy Corn Cutie!
I had the pleasure of guesting with the City Stitchin' group for a Halloween launch! I have 2 auctions for this one. I made an adorable little denim jumper that is ready to ship, and I even made some bows! It has been quite some time since I listed bows. I usually match up with the most amazing bow maker- Sarah, bella*jo*bows. However, my model needed some bows ASAP, and I forgot to contact Sarah, eek! It was nice to know that I could still make bows, and have fun doing them at the same time!
PrimRoses Boutique Holiday Launch
I know I'm a bit late with this blog post. My group, PrimRoses, had a holiday launch that debuted last week. I listed a holiday twirl set and a crocheted hat. Now, those that know me, realize that I do not crochet! My mother, however, is amazing at crochet! I have numerous afghans from her, and she has crocheted clothing, too! I just love her beanie cap that I have listed for her, and will have more of these to follow. She is currently working on Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day items!!!

Sophisticated Kitty
This is another fabric that I have horded! I fell in love with this fabric the moment I saw it! I once again had the pleasure to team up with my friend, Nicole- kennebug*boutique, for this set! Her gems are stunning! They are also durable, which is very important in relation to jewelry for children. I had so much fun creating this set and was just amazed with the beautiful bracelet that Nicole created!
Flamingo Ballet
I must admit that I am partial to the color pink, and of course, I like flamingos! So, when I saw this fabric last year, I bought it immediately! I have been saving it for that perfect set idea. I had the good fortune to match up with my friend and master of the polymer jewelry, Nicole- kennebug*boutique. My daughter owns more of her jewelry than I can count! I hope you enjoy our creations!

Summer Project! A Dollhouse!
When my daughter was 4, I built her a dollhouse. This is a picture of it. She has "rediscovered" it in the past few months and has stated that it "needs a neighbor." If anyone has made a dollhouse, then you understand the time that goes into the construction, decoration, etc. This dollhouse took me 3 months to complete. My daughter is now 8 and has said that she would love to help make a new dollhouse. Sooooo, yesterday, we headed to the hobby store and bought a new dollhouse to begin together. She didn't just want the small cottage, we're creating a very large farmhouse! I imagine it will take the entire summer to complete, but I am so thrilled to be able to do this with my daughter! How fun! We start tomorrow!
I plan to add pictures as we go through the various stages. We're going to assemble it in the unfinished basement, so the background of the pictures won't be the prettiest setting, but that's ok! I think the part she is going to enjoy the most is when it is time to go furniture shopping! I know I had a blast doing that with this dollhouse. That's the only time you can furnish an entire room for less than $50! I think the most difficult part will be picking a color for the new house. She's thinking purple, and let's just say, I'm not! So, off to the paint store in Monday morning! I'm sure we'll find a color we both love!

Definition Of A Friend
The definition of a friend sometimes seems to be lost these days. We are all busy and run short on time for those that are important to us at times. If you google the definition of a friend, this is one response that you get:
friend
play_w2("F0327100")
(frnd)
n.
1. A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
2. A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.
3. A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; a comrade.
4. One who supports, sympathizes with, or patronizes a group, cause, or movement
We have friends in different contexts and areas in our lives. I would like to thank my friends for being there for me. I would like to start by thanking my husband, daughter, and mother. Having friends in your "family" is very important, and I am blessed to have many!
I would also like to thank my "online" and "ebay" friends for all the support and help that they send my way! I would especially like to send a shout out to Jen, Sarah, Jodie, Karen, Nicole, Canela, Nomi, Andrea, Samantha, Brandi and Jeramie! You are the best!

You grew up in the 80's if....
What things do you tie to growing up in the 80's ??
You know the profound meaning of "WAX ON, WAX OFF.
"You've ever ended a sentence with the word "SIKE."
Two words: Hammer Pants.
You wore stone washed Jordache jean jackets and were proud of it.
You still get the urge to say "NOT" after every sentence.
You know all the words to Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name"
You remember when mullets were cool!L.A.Gear....need I say more?
You owned a banana clip.
You played pong, Pac Man, etc..
You remember life BEFORE MTV entered the scene
How many jelly bracelets did you have up your arm?
Don't forget Leg Warmers & fishnet stockings!
My little PonyStrawberry Shortcake & Blueberry Muffin were awesome dolls
Fraggle Rock
Smurfs- la, la, la, la, la, la
Press your Luck- Big Money, Big Money, Stop! WHAMMY!!!!
Zach was surely hot in Saved by The Bell!
We all went to the theater to see Back to The Future.

Two Glasses of Wine
My friend Andrea, divas*duds posted this in our group, PrimRoses. I'm so happy that she did. It is a wonderful reminder of what is truly important in life!
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 glasses of wine...
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.. The pebbles rolled Into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'
The professor then produced two glasses of wine from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. 'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things; your family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions; things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.' The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else; the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you' 'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. Do one more run down the ski slope. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first; the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the wine represented. The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of glasses of wine with a friend.'
Thanks for sharing this with me Andrea!

Now on Etsy!!!
As many of you know, there is a strike on Ebay from February 18th-25th. I will be participating in this and pulling my fabric and boutique auctions during this time. The good news... this provides a lot of free time to get caught up on custom orders! Also, I have discovered Etsy and WiNKeLF. I will have items listed on both and have the same id as my boutique fashions on ebay- calicoflamingo.

My Daughter's New Project
Today, my daughter had her last quilting class for the tic-tac-toe quilt. I'm so proud of her hard work! This is the finished project with the exception of the markers (we'll be finishing those at home tonight!). She worked for 6 hours total on this- her very first quilting project. It's for playing tic-tac-toe and rolls up with ric rac ties! Adorable!
Finally Defrosting!

I'm So Excited!
I'm so excited to finally have an official blog! Many thanks to Sam- twolittlewitches and Jen- barefoot*divas! I would be lost without the technical skills of Jen! I just love the fabulous art work of Sam!
I think I was most excited to make my playlist! How fun to have my own little soundtrack! My first selection was Pachabel's Canon in D. I actually managed to play this piece in a piano recital in November. Yes, at my age, I was in a piano recital! This was the first ever recital that I made it through entirely! In high school, I would get such stage fright that I never finished a song! I owe my current piano teacher (the nicest lady you'll ever meet) many thanks. She is the BEST piano teacher ever, in my opinion, and so very kind. She sat by me the entire song, and yes, for the first time ever, I played Pachabel's Canon start to finish!
I hope to have more exciting news as the days go on, however the recital was quite a victory for me!
